Abbey Lodge and Cottage is located on the Barbeth Estate, in the stunning village of New Abbey, 8 miles south from Dumfries, on the Solway Firth Coastal Trail. New Abbey was recently voted Scotland’s most beautiful village.
The village is charming and steeped in history including the Cistercian Abbey known locally as ‘Sweetheart Abbey’. There is a local shop and a gift shop. New Abbey has ready access to the glorious Solway Firth, a special area of conservation. There are beautiful bays nearby including Rockcliffe and Southerness.
